Right to Emergency Care - A Hoax

These days lotz of mail in inbox contains the same content.

Right to Emergency Care:
Date Of Judgment: 23/02/2007.
Case No.: Appeal (civil) 919 of 2007.

The Supreme Court has ruled that all injured persons especially in the
case of road traffic accidents, assaults, etc., when brought to a
hospital / medical centre, have to be offered first aid, stabilized and
shifted to a higher centre / government centre if required. It is only
after this that the hospital can demand payment or complete police
formalities. In case you are a bystander and wish to help someone in an
accident, please go ahead and do so. Your responsibility ends as soon
as you leave the person at the hospital.

The hospital bears the responsibility of informing the police, first
aid, etc.

Please do inform your family and friends about these basic rights so
that we all know what to expect and what to do in the hour of need.
Please not only go ahead and forward, use it too!!!!

How hardly I wanted to believe it, but can't... as the judgement of Appeal 919
I m quoting down and you can verify it from an Indian govt. website on judiciary

The Judgemet information system

It is all about a non profitable charity organisation who purchased some medical equipmen and about some exemption of these products imported in ghanapur in Andhra Pradesh..

Supreme court Appeal 919 of 2007

So please don't believe in the hoax..help the accident victims with ur humanity rather than persuaded by these type of hoax, coz this tyoe of judgemet if ever happened..shud had been a national news and widely circulated by the government as like the RTI act. So believe me..saving one's life is a greatest act, but it still involves the Police formalities and payment to the hospital.
Rest is all.. you have to decide to help ...based on ur conscience.

  2. it aint an obligation ..but da formalities are so tough that it became one...u hav to infrom the POLICe who will register FIR and den the doctor will start treating the patient..though govt hospital has a police picket and dey take it in genral diary but still dere is a chance that u hav to testify and even if they don find any suspect..the fst suspect is u..and u kno ion indian law a suspect is big criminal than tje original one :D
